Description:Sorbus aria 'Lutescens' also known as Whitebeam is a medium sized deciduous tree, erect when young, spreading with age. The young creamy white leaves appear as candles as they emerge and turn grey-green in summer, russet and gold in autumn. Clusters of creamy white flowers appear in April and May, followed by bright orange-red fruit in the autumn.

History: Received the Royal Horticultural Society's Award of Garden Merit.

Growing Tips: Grow in moderately fertile, humus-rich, well-drained soil in full sun or light shade. Hardy and tolerant of urban pollution and coastal conditions.
